Caregiver FAQ

Questions caregivers ask us

Is it free to join?
Yes, for Founding Caregivers. Founding Caregivers never pay a fee, ever. Caregivers who join later may have a small fee in the future. If that happens, they will get notice before anything changes.
What happens after I sign up?
Our team reviews every sign-up personally. We'll reach out by phone or email to confirm your details, and then your profile goes live on the caregiver search.
Can I start now and finish later?
Yes. Answer four quick questions to save your spot, then finish your profile whenever you're ready. We'll email you a link to pick up where you left off.
Who sees my information?
Families see your first name, last initial, city, experience, bio, and photo if you add one. Your phone number and email are never shown publicly.
How do families contact me?
Families send a request through the site. We pass it along to you, so your contact details stay private.
Do I set my own schedule and areas?
Yes. You choose the days, shifts, hours, and areas you want to work, and you can change them anytime.
Do I set my own rates?
Yes. You and each family agree on your hourly rate. Insured Care confirms that rate with the family, and you're paid as a W-2 Insured Care employee.
What areas are you serving?
We're starting in the Sacramento area, with more areas coming soon. Founding Caregivers are first in line as we expand.
I'm still a student. Can I apply?
Yes. Students can apply now and join our waitlist, so you're ready for your first job when the time comes.
Do I need certifications?
Before you're placed with a family, everyone needs a California Home Care Aide Registry listing, a Live Scan background check, a TB test, and CPR and First Aid, and you must be 18 or older and authorized to work in the US. You can sign up first and finish these after. Other certifications depend on the services and credentials you check on your sign-up. For example, if you say you're ABA certified or a CNA, you'll need to provide that documentation. You don't have to upload it right away, but it will be required before you're placed with a family. Credentials like CNA, HHA, and CPR also help families choose.
Can I update or remove my profile?
Yes. Contact us anytime at info@getinsuredcare.com and we'll update or remove it.
Is this a job or employment?
Yes. When you're placed with a family, you work as a W-2 employee of Insured Care, at the rate you and the family agreed on, paid every two weeks or twice a month.
